Following torrential rains, the Ajmer Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Saturday directed the owners to demolish houses which are in dilapidated condition. There are two dozen buildings and structures identified in the city that need to be demolished immediately.

Meanwhile, many colonies near the Anasagar Lake are still flooded after two days of heavy rains and water pumps are being used to flush out water. Only 4 inch of water is drained out from Anasagar Lake after the channel gates were opened and the lake is overflowing with more than 14 feet of water.

Following death of three persons of a family due to house collapse in Nagphani region on Wednesday, the AMC officials inspected many areas and identified dilapidated houses which may collapse due to rains. AMC commissioner Chinmay Gopal said that the decision is aimed at ensuring safety of the people.
