Amravati must have eco friendly buildings
Speakers at workshop on Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) here on Monday emphasised the need to have energy efficient built environment in the new capital city of the state.
Organised by the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) with support from State Energy Conservation Mission (SECM), the workshop had speakers including Professor Rajkiran Bilolikar from the ASCI, president of the Vijayawada chapter of Indian Institute of Architects Venu Gopal, president of Credai YV Ramana Rao, and CEO of SECM Chandra Sekhar Reddy.
Venu Gopal stressed the need for energy efficient built environment in new capital city, and requested all stakeholders to support the cause. In his inaugural speech, Ramana Rao extended support for ECBC implementation by real estate community.
Chandrasekhar Reddy said the state can achieve the energy efficiency targets, and create a larger impact with respect to the intended nationally determined contributions. The efforts on energy efficiency by the state are recognised not only at country level, but also by the world community, he said.
He said that the DTCP is incorporating mandatory ECBC compliance in online development permission management system within a week.
