Andhra Pradesh regularises lands in Vijayawada
State government’s move to issue house pattas to around 1.15 lakh families residing in hilly terrains of the city is receiving a positive response from the beneficiaries. Around two lakh families across the city are residing in government lands (hill poramboke lands) and most of them have been demanding for the last three decades to get land pattas issued.
The state government, which conducted a detailed survey in the city, identified 1.15 lakh genuine beneficiaries residing in illegal constructions in hilly areas. Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu issued pattas worth Rs 7,500 crore to the beneficiaries
The beneficiaries are happy with the regularisation of their lands and request the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) to improve infrastructure.
