Building layout approval process to go online
The Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) is set to digitise the process of granting approval to building layouts.
Officials claim the move will not only expedite the process of granting approval, but also root out deep-seated corruption from the system by bringing transparency in the functioning of the authority at different layers. Under the project, the UP government will digitise nearly 30 authorities across the state by next month.
Lucknow, special secretary (housing), UP government, Amitabh Prakash said the decision was taken in view of a large number of complaints received about rampant corruption in granting approval and according approval to faulty designs by authority officials.
BDA officials said at present, the online process is being used for granting approval to layouts of buildings spread over 300 square metres or above, but it has now been decided to digitise the entire system.
