Chennai development body launches portal for submission of building plans
Tamil Nadu chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Wednesday launched a portal for online submission of planning permission applications to the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA). The portal eliminates manual submission of building approval in the Chennai Metropolitan Area (CMA) comprising the city and parts of neighbouring Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts.
The website has a sample application to guide users for filing their applications online. An official statement said that the status of online applications can be tracked.
The chief minister also inaugurated a facility for the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRERA) website, wherein developers and real estate agents can file their applications online. Till now, forms need to be downloaded from the real estate authority’s website and filled in applications should be sent through email.
