CIDCO allocates Rs 11.76 crore for infrastructure development
Cidco has allocated Rs 11.76 crore to strengthen basic infrastructure in sectors 20, 21 and 23 of Ulwe as part of the second stage of developmental projects for the node.
The work is expected to be done in the next 24 months. The project includes development of more than 9km of road and almost 1km of storm water drains. On the back of developmental work in sectors 2, 3, 5 and 19, Cidco has taken a call to rework a makeover plan for the remaining sectors.
The residents of sectors 20, 21 and 23 have a reason to cheer as their persistent demands for better infrastructure have been finally heard. Cidco will soon start the integrated development of roads and storm water drains in these sectors.
“We have been enduring pain for several years due to the deplorable road and drainage condition in our area. This node has been neglected for so long as compared to other Cidco townships. Our plight has been addressed finally,” said Srirang Gadre, a local resident.
Cidco has charted out a comprehensive plan to boost the basic civic amenities in the township which has been facing numerous problems for close to a decade.
The monsoon season was a nightmare for the hapless residents who were forced to wade through knee-deep water and commute using pockmarked roads.
According to a Cidco official, “The contract for the second state construction has been finalized recently. The concessionaire has been asked to submit the bank guarantee to get the award. Work will begin soon with a 24-month deadline.”
