CREDAI – MCHI pledges Rs. 3 Crore towards Kolhapur Flood Relief Fund
A city on the banks of the Panchaganga River, in the west Indian state of Maharashtra – Kolhapur is in the grip of worst floods of the century, which has brought human lives to a standstill with lakhs of people remaining stranded in remote corners and on the roof tops. Pune, Kolhapur, Satara, Sangli and Solapur — the districts in western Maharashtra are experiencing the worst deluge with a total of 30 people died in rain-related incidents in five including 12 who drowned when a boat capsized in Sangli.
Heavy rains have triggered flooding, landslides, home and bridge collapses which have severely disrupted air and train services there. Immediate flood relief measures were needed with supplies of essential items, commodities, basic necessities, food, water and medicines for the flood victims.
Chairing an emergency meeting in Mumbai, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said rescuing women, children and patients was the priority, and directed the administration of the flood-hit districts to make alternative arrangements for food, essential items, and drinking water. He announced on Rs.6813 cr assistance for flood affected people.

Responding to the call of Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Fadnavis, CREDAI – MCHI decided to donate Rs.3 Crore towards Kolhapur & Sangli Flood Relief Fund along with dispatching tons of relief material, from Mumbai.
CREDAI-MCHI decided to adopt 2 Villages of which one is Bilwadi, District-Sangli.
