Grant released by India for river training & construction of embankments in Nepal

In Kathmandu, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Mr Manjeev Singh Puri handed over a cheque of grant to Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Secretary Ministry of Energy, Irrigation & Water Resources, Nepal. MrBarsha Man Pun, Minister for Energy, Irrigation & Water Resources was also present on the occasion.

The construction of embankments are along Lalbakeya, Bagmati and Kamla rivers in Nepal. It is aimed at flood control and water resources management which would benefit several million people inhabiting in the watershed of these rivers in India and Nepal.

India showcases much interest to continue working closely with Nepal, since 2008.
