After missing July 31 deadline, the Jaipur Development Commissioner (JDC) on Monday called a meeting to register projects under the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) before the extended time given by the state government.

The urban development and housing (UDH) had recently extended the deadline for developers and government agencies to register their project under the (RERA). Now, registration with RERA can be done till August 31 after paying four times additional registration fee.

Developers, projects and agents were provided 90 days to register after the RERA Act came into effect on May 1 in the state. After RERA act came into force, chief minister Vasundhara Raje launched the RERA website on June 1. It became mandatory for all the builders and real estate agents to register on the website.

As website was launched after one month, the developers were demanding to extend the deadline. It was further alleged that time was wasted as the UDH department launched a faulty website. Moreover, RERA staff was not appointed on time.
