K J Somaiya College ‘Capacity Building Programs on Environment Management ‘

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region – Environment Improvement Society (MMR-EIS) has entered into an MoU with K J Somaiya College of Science and Commerce, to jointly develop and run ‘Capacity Building Programs on Environment Management’ with the objective of developing capabilities of local authorities, NGO’s, and other stakeholders in the areas of environmental protection, improvement and monitoring.

With its expertise and experience in Environmental Sciences, K J Somaiya College will develop and coordinate capacity building programs that will combine understanding the science, economics and policies for urban environment management through  discussions ,field visits, group activities and case studies for application of best practices with experts  across the country.

The program will be conducted in five modules of 40 hours each over one academic year from June to April. A diploma will be jointly awarded by MMR EIS and KJSSC to participants who successfully complete all five modules.  Participants will be given participation certificate for attending individual modules. Diploma applicants have to submit written assignments at the end of each course. They are also required to submit a complete a research project at the end of all five course to be eligible for the diploma.
