Kajaria Ceramics reports 44% surge in Q2 FY18 profit
Kajaria Ceramics, manufacturer of ceramic/vitrified tiles, has reported an increase of 44% in its net profit during the quarter ending September 2017. Its profit after tax (PAT) increased from Rs 52.14 crore in Q1 FY18 to Rs 74.92 crore in Q2 FY18.
Company’s revenue from operations on the other hand dipped by 5% during the same period and stood at Rs 633.84 crore. Its revenue from operations in Q1 FY18 was Rs 669 crore.
Kajaria Ceramics also announced commencement of expansion of 3.50 msm per annum capacity to manufacture high value ceramic floor tiles at Gailpur, Rajasthan plant.
To have better control, the company also approved acquisition of 43,33,500 equity shares of Rs 10 each of Jaxx Vitrified, a subsidiary company, at a consideration aggregating upto Rs 8.68 crore, it said in a BSE filing.
