Assembly speaker P Sreeramakrishnan, who visited coastal areas of Ponnani where sea erosion wreaked havoc, has announced that the government would permanently rehabilitate residents in the coastal area within one year.

Protest was brewing among residents of the coastal areas in Ponnanitaluk as more than hundred houses were completely and partially damaged in the sea erosion after the onset of South-West monsoon.
