Noida Authority has decided to crackdown on unauthorized commercial units operating from residential plots in the city. For now, a survey has been conducted and more than a 100 residences have been identified across the city, which are indulging in non-confirming activity from their premises. “Show-cause notices and even legal action are on the anvil for these property owners for lease deed violations,” said Saumya Srivastava, Deputy CEO (DCEO), Noida Authority.

According to officials, allottees are operating paying guest accommodation, hostels, OYO rooms, guest houses, etc from their residential properties. These are operational in residential buildings in sector 61, 44, 20, 15, 41, 30 and 39 among others. “This is ‘unauthorized’ activity and needs to be stopped with immediate effect as they are flouting the norms of the Industrial Development Act 1976,” Srivastava said.
