Property tax assessment to get quicker in Hyderabad
A proposal to integrate building permission and property tax in Development Permission Management System (DPMS) is on cards. Unlike earlier, property tax will be assessed while issuing occupancy certificate.
“Once the details are entered in DPMS for building permission, the data will be shared in single window platform and property tax will be evaluated. A software will be developed to link building permission and property tax,” said a top GHMC official.
As on today after the occupancy certificate is issued by civic body’s town planning wing. It cannot be ignored that there are instances where houses have been identified after three years of occupancy and bill collectors manually assessed the properties and calculated property tax.
