Revised proposal for 1,288 tenements of Pimpri Chinchwad under PMAY
Pimpri Chinchwad municipal commissioner Shravan Hardikar has given a revised proposal for the 1,288 tenements under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana. There is a difference between PCMC and PCNTDA. The PCMC would be having aluminium windows, gypsum plaster for the walls for long life, smooth finishing, and oil paint. The PCNTDA would be having MS windows and wall care putty. A contractor has been appointed for the construction of 1,288 tenements with an estimated cost of Rs 9.11 lakh per tenement. PCNTDA would be constructing 2,572 tenements with an estimated cost Rs 8.25 lakh. The estimated cost for the tenements in Borhadewadi would be Rs Rs 112.19 crore.
Pimpri Chinchwad BJP unit president Laxman Jagtap had given a letter in July to the civic chief stating that there is a large difference between the proposed constructions by the municipal corporation and the PCNTDA. PCMC is constructing a 14-storied building while PCNTDA is constructing an 11-storied building.
If the gypsum plaster is removed, around Rs 10 crore would be saved. The scope of work would be changed from Rs 112.19 crore to 123.78 crore, civic officials said. The central government would give funds of Rs 1.5 lakh, and the state government would give funds of Rs 1 lakh. The beneficiary would pay Rs 5.77 lakh for the tenements. The central and the state government should give a revised technical proposal for the difference in costs, officials said.
