In a bid to encourage the ‘walk-to-work’ concept, the Telangana government on Wednesday said it has approved earmarking of land for residential projects within the upcoming industrial parks in the state.

“Today we took a decision that wherever large industrial parks are coming up, particularly for MSMEs, we will also earmark some land for townships…including dormitory kind of housing for workers,” Telangana IT and industries principal secretary JayeshRanjan said while addressing members of the Federation of Telangana Small (MSME) Industries Association (FETSIA).

Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd (TSIIC) VC and MD EV Narasimha Reddy said the government will start with earmarking land at the MSME park coming up at DanduMalkapur of Choutuppalmandal in Yadadri-Bhongir district.

Reddy said to empower MSMEs, the state government has been earmarking around 20-30% land in all industrial parks for MSMEs exclusively. This apart, many new MSME parks too are coming up in the state.
