UP RERA gets 900 complaints
UP principal secretary housing and urban planning, Mukul Singhal, who also holds the post of chairman of the state’s Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Rera) on Tuesday has informed that the authority had received of 900 complaints. Out of all these complaints, 600 are related to GB Nagar. Singhal said redress of complaints has started from November 13 and each complaint must be resolved within a month and a half.
Singhal, on Tuesday met officials of the three development authorities of GB Nagar including Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway besides members of Credai and representatives of homebuyers associations in Noida.
“We also discussed the draft provision of ‘agreement to sale’ to be done with homebuyers, which is to be included within the purview of the Real Estate (regulation and development) Act, 2016,” said Singhal. “This provision not covered under the Act until now. The draft is almost final and we will now forward it to the state government and cabinet for approval and notification. Once under the purview of Rera, no developer will be able trick homebuyers. Moreover, as per provisions of agreement to sale, registration of property will be done on carpet area and not super area,” he said.
Singhal said that nodal officers have been designated in each development authority. “These officials have been tasked with drawing up the details of all registered projects in their respective areas. If any builder has provided a date of completion of a project as an extended one or there is inconsistency in the declaration, notices will be issued to the developer. If we receive complaints about any completion certificates issued before the project is complete, just so the project is out of the ambit of Rera, we will take cognisance,” Singhal promised.
