T he laid back, unpretentious 4500 sq.ft space of One8 commune in New Delhi has a design vocabulary that is a mix of minimal intervention with subtle finishes and bright accents in places for an extravagant appeal. The simplistic seating plan throughout the restaurant & bar has been split into two levels, connected with a modish suspended steel staircase. The covered, open and semi-open balcony sitting caters to all preferences. The main service cores like the kitchen and washrooms have been snuggled on to the upper level. The sophisticated formulation of this gastro pub begins at the façade, which is a combination of double heighted grey wainscoting panels and a white terrazzo gate. As one enters into the establishment, they are greeted with a huge wall glistening with the autograph of Virat Kohli. Another sport based feature is an illuminated score board that displays the scores of popular ongoing sporting events ranging from tennis to badminton to cricket.
One8 commune a premium gastro pub located at the Worldmark 2, Aerocity, New Delhi distinctly reflects Virat’s cool demeanour, pragmatic passion and exuberant energy.
Apart from the statement autographed wall, the staircase has golden round lamps hanging asymmetrically from the ceiling that makes for another eye-catching yet subtle piece of art. The interiors of the dining bar are quite subtle and modest. Designed by Chromed Design Studio, One8 Commune is the first of its many outlets planned across various cities. Indeed, the initial selling point is the stature and brand value of the captain of the Indian cricket team but, its zesty vibe and welcoming atmosphere will surely create a prudent recollection for the customers.
