EESL to replace 50,000 conventional street lights with LED in Gurugram
Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) will replace fifty thousand conventional street lights with LED lights in Gurugram, Haryana under the Street Lighting National Programme (SLNP) by January 2018, the company said.
“EESL shall replace over 48,568 conventional street lights with LED lights, which would lead municipal corporation of Gurugram (MCG) to save approximately 13 million units of electricity annually,” EESL said in a statement on Wednesday.
The memorandum of understanding between MCG and EESL entails that the entire upfront capital cost of upgradation of conventional streetlight fixtures with LED ones will be borne by the MCG, while EESL will take care of the annual maintenance and warranty replacement on behalf of MCG for a period of ten years. The implementation is in line with the Smart Cities initiative of the government of Haryana.
EESL will implement the centralised control and monitoring system (CCMS) as a replacement of existing conventional streetlight fixtures besides providing minimum guarantee of savings of 45 to55 percent to MCG.
