Elegant Solutions For The Modern Home
“If our growth is good, our service is good and our quality is good, then I think our results will be a consequence of this growth and innovation.” Vikram Somany Chairman & MD, Cera Sanitaryware Limited.
How has been the company’s journey of more than 2 decades?
Cera Sanitaryware Limited was founded in the year 1980 at Kadi in Gujarat, India. Its factory is strategically located, where raw material, power, fuel, etc. are abundantly available. It has the largest production of 3.5 million pieces of sanitaryware in one location in India. The state-of-the-art manufacturing plant follows the highest standards of quality with an emphasis on sustainability since its inception in 1980.
It uses latest technology like robotic glazing, pressure casting, 3D printing, etc. After its success in sanitaryware, Cera launched faucets, with its own green-field, state-of-the-art plant in Kadi. It has 3D printing, robotic grinding, low pressure die casting, automatic chrome plating, etc. to name a few. The faucet plant of Cera has a capacity to produce 10,000 pieces per day.
CERA also launched wall and floor Tiles, in all categories—vitrified, ceramic, porcelain, glazed vitrified tiles, polished vitrified tiles, digital wall and floor tiles, and also for applications like exterior wall, parking areas, etc. Cera has two Tile plants currently, one in Morbi and the other in Gudur.
The novel initiatives by the company
Cera entered the luxury products segment through an exclusive tie up with Italian luxury designer sanitaryware brand, ISVEA. It also launched a premium collection of Sanitaryware, Faucets, Wellness and Mirrors under the brand name SENATOR.
Cera has been doing continuous research on water-saving products. Its wall hung WCs can flush in just in 4 litres of water. The company also has recently launched an innovative Urinal-cumwash basin with a sensor faucet, aimed at saving water in public washrooms.
How will you describe the brand vision of the organization?
Technology, innovation and leadership–these three words capture the essence of Cera. Since its inception, Cera Sanitaryware Limited is known for its innovations, like setting a plant that would use gas as its energy, introducing water-saving twin-flush coupled WCs, 4-litre flush WCs. Cera is also the first in India to manufacture one-piece WCs and to introduce the widest range of colours in its products. Some of Cera’s innovations have now become benchmarks for the industry.
