Municipal commissioner Yashpal Yadav has directed IL & FS, the private agency responsible for construction and demolition (C&D) waste management in the city, to conduct a survey to assess the amount of such waste being generated in every ward. The company has also been asked to designate C&D waste dumping points in all wards.

The campaign is likely to start from June 24. Under the campaign, teams of MCG officials will visit every ward on Tuesdays and have discussions with the respective councillors, residents, RWAs and NGOs about the issues pertaining to that particular area.Consequently, the teams will come up with plans to address these issues and execute it the following Sunday. These teams will majorly focus on hyper local issues such as water supply, sanitation, sewage and maintenance of parks. The teams will also work towards tree plantation on streets and installation of micro sewage treatment plants in all wards.

In order to encourage people to join and support the MCG’s campaign, the corporation will reward residents and associations helping in carrying out the cleanliness and beautification work.
