Close on the heels of demolition work on fugitive diamantaireNiravModi’s mansion at Alibaug comes news of Raigad authorities wielding the wrecking ball on another property, which is one of over 160 “illegal constructions” along the beach district.

The latest action is on a bungalow owned by the Mumbai-based Kundanmal family.

Over 7,100 sqft of the bungalow, in Alibaug’sDhokvade, was deemed illegal by the Raigad district administration. A two-judge bench of the Bombay high court had found relief claimed by Shahzadi R Kundanmal (72), the wife of businessman Ramesh Kundanmal, contrary to the earlier directions of the court. “The Raigad district collectorate ordered (Shahzadi) under the Maharashtra Land Revenue Act… to remove the illegal structure on August 8, 2018.

Accordingly, a notice was issued on September 9,” said Alibaug-based RTI activist Dilip Jog.
