India becomes third largest solar market in the world
India every other institution is consuming electricity via solar cell panel, be it Delhi metro, education institution or government offices.
Mercom Communications India, an arm of global clean energy consulting firm Mercom Capital Group, has released a report which claims that India has gained the third position among largest solar market in the world in 2017. The first two players are China and United States.
In a span of one year, India has recorded unprecedented figures of solar power usage. In 2016 4.3 GW installed while in 2017 it got doubled with 9.6 GW. As of 2017-end, large-scale solar project development accounted for 92 per cent, out of which 90 per cent is alone from 2017, with 995 MW installation.
