CMA has argued with the Indian government that cement should be brought under the lowest Goods and Services Tax (GST) slab. It has the highest slab on a par with luxury goods in India, which is 28%. CMA claims that by lowering the GST, it will lower costs and will also aid cement demand too.

CMA and the Confederation of Indian Industry launched a report at Green Cementech eventon ‘Indian Cement Industry’ which includes the History, Growth Drivers and Key Learnings. The report also talks about the cement sector’s upward growth graph and initiatives taken for water, energy and material conservation. The report majorly concentrates on research and development of green products in the cement industry.
