Jaipur development body snags technical bids for seven of its housing projects
After repeated failures, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) finally succeeded in attracting developers for seven of its nine affordable housing projects.
On Monday, the civic body received technical bids for seven projects after it made several amendments in the tender document.
Under the chief minister’s ambitious Mukhyamantri Jan Awas Yojana, the JDA proposed to develop projects for the economically weaker section (EWS) on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode on different sites. These sites include Anand Vihar, Abhinav Vihar, Shaurya Nagar and Surya Nagar, where developer was proposed to construct houses on engineering, procurement and construction basis.
An official informed, in previous tenders developer did not participate due to limited liability and low ceiling for construction price. A recent rise of 10% in the construction cost ceiling too was inadequate to expectations of the developers. After facing rejections, the development authority compensated the developers through other incentives, such as additional built up area for their other projects.
