The lush green campus of Jawaharlal Nehru University is set to get solar power operated street lights, Vice Chancellor Jagadesh Kumar said.

The varsity’s solar street lights initiative has received aid from the Ministry of New and Renewable energy and is in sync JNU’s plan to cut down on its carbon emission.

“Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has agreed to sanction 200 solar street lights to be installed in JNU,” Kumar said in a tweet.
