Kajaria Ceramics plans to maintain its current growth of 17-18% in coming years, said company’s joint managing directors Chetan and Rishi Kajaria.

Company is currently expanding the capacity of its factory in Gailpur, Rajasthan. “The new line will become functional by 1st October 2017 and will add 3 million sq metres to our existing tile manufacturing capacity,” says Chetan. Currently, the company has the tile manufacturing capacity of 63.90 million sq metres.

Apart from this, it also is developing a plant in South India which will become functional in 2018 and will add 5 million sq metres to the total tile manufacturing capacity of the company.

Overall industry size of tile manufacturing in India is estimated to be Rs. 27,000 crore as of March 2017 of which Kajaria claims to hold 20% share of the organised sector. “Much of this growth can be attributed to the GST, which has levelled the playing field and the share of informal sector has drastically reduced,” says Rishi.
