Lucknow development body’s proceedings disturbed due to protesters
Lucknow Development Authority’s grievance redressal camp was stalled for over an hour when family of five started protesting and raising slogans like ‘LDA Murdabad’ against officials’ laxity to compensate them with land in lieu of a road which would pass through their property in Sharda Nagar Yojna.
While the family complained that they have been visiting LDA for a year now and haven’t been provided with a satisfactory land in return, the LDA claimed that the sudden outburst on the spot was staged to pressurize its proceedings. LDA VC Prabhu N Singh said, “The protests seemed staged to me as the moment the men started shouting, some people shot videos of the incident and started circulating them on media groups. The family claims it has been making rounds of office for a year but in my presence, they have never showed up. At least they should have spoken calmly with us.”
LDA has decided to relook in their file on August 19 to assess if the proposed road would actually pass through their land or not. “We need to verify if they are actual owners of the land or not or do we really want to construct the road or not in Sharda Nagar Yojna. We can only come to a conclusion by next week”, said another official. LDA officials said that the land revenue records suggest that the people who came for compensation are not having proper documents to prove their ownership on the land, so they need to look more closely into the details. Since the proposed road has yet not been constructed in Sharda Nagar Yojna, LDA might also rethink over its decision and cancel construction of road. Officials also said that the people are demanding a land stretch in pristine area of LDA project which is not justified as their land is not in so developed locality.
