Pune civic body eyes 500 acres for town planning schemes
The civic body may get over 500 acres under the town planning scheme in the near future. Baner, Balewadi, Mundhwa and the 11 newly merged villages will benefit from the TP schemes.
A Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) official said they were checking the feasibility of the projects. The study and detailed project report (DPR) for them would be carried out in due course of time.
“The civic administration is working on the details of the areas where such projects are possible. At present, we are focusing on places such as Baner, Balewadi and Mundhwa. These places have open spaces, which can be used for the TP scheme. The proposals regarding it can be drafted and the execution is possible after getting the due permission from the elected members and the authorities concerned,” RajendraRaut, a senior PMC official of the building permission department, said.
He said apart from these areas, 11 merged villages would also be tapped for the scheme. “Our primary estimates state that nearly 500 acres of land can be used for such projects,” he said.
