SC rejects anticipatory bail plea of Afcons Infrastructure’s official
The Supreme Court has rejected special leave petition (criminal) seeking anticipatory bail filed by Anil Kumar Bachu Singh, project officer of Mumbai-based Afcons Infrastructure.
Selu police in Wardha district had registered an offence against Singh after a complaint was lodged by Hyderabad-based Cozy Properties Private Ltd against Afcons and its petty contractor — Wardha-based MP Constructions — alleging they had excavated murrum and also destroyed sprawling land owned by it without permission from the company and district administration.
As per information on the apex court’s website, Singh’s petition (SLP (criminal)- 009807/2019 and diary no- 38160-2019) was dismissed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Krishna Murari on Thursday. The order was, however, not available on the website till filing of this report.
As per the apex court website, Cozy Properties has filed a caveat in the SC after Nagpur bench of the Bombay high court rejected Singh’s petition seeking anticipatory bail on October 7.
Cozy Properties official said the apex court also heard their caveat before dismissing the petition.
